Soot and ash rained down around him, staining his pale skin and even paler hair as he sat paralyzed and breathless. Eyes straining to keep open against extreme heat waves fanning over his entire body as flames rose up high above, reaching into the sky. Beams and walls collapsed minutes later, crashing onto the foundation of the building along with the rest of the structure with a gut-wrenching sound resembling that of an explosion.
Images and visions passed in front of his eyes like a movie screen.

I wanted to write an AU where (inspired by that fan art) the Reader-chan prevents Light from picking up the Death Note, thus preventing his death in 2010. This was also inspired by the books The Time Traveler's Wife AND Lightning. Time travel has always interested me, but I am in no way smart enough to go into the scientific details about it.
Also, the reason why Light isn't such an asshole is because whoops, he never touched the Death Note, so he didn't have the urge to kill criminals. When he caught the man who did have the Death Note, he had no desire to use it to kill criminals, his thinking very much like L at the time (which I think is a good thing)
Just know, for the sake of this story, that the year 2100 has a ton of geniuses who are able to make time travel possible (BUT ONLY TO THE PAST !!).
As for if time travel is still possible in the -epilogue-, I'll leave it all up to you reader's imagination ;D
**It's so late and I've got an 8 AM class tomorrow hhhhh let me know of any errors you see in a note and I hope you enjoyed this story.
