[Dave x Reader]
Houston, Texas/ Movie Theatre:
___ ____ had no idea why she agreed to watch this horror flick with Dave. She didn’t even like horror! They always managed to give her nightmares.
Currently, they were sitting in the very back row of the theatre, having to suffer through 20 minutes of a bunch of movie previews before the actual film could start.
“Hey, want some Milk Duds?” Glancing over at him, ___ fought to calm her racing heart. That’s right, ___ agreed to go with him because there was a teeny tiny chance that she was developing a serious crush on him. God, why did he have to be so gorgeous!?
He was still looking at her, red eyes in question beneath the dark glasses of his shades as he held out the box of candy to her. “Well?”
Grateful for the lack of light from within the theatre, ___ looked down and blushed, “I-I’m fine, thanks.”
Dave shrugged. “Your loss.”
Dave and ___ had been friends for a while now, their relationship forming during their eighth grade year of middle school. It all began when ___ and Dave were in the same Geography class together, having assigned seats right next to each other. Of course, it being a lame class, Dave and ___ began passing notes to one another in order to keep each other awake.
___ would always write down funny or sarcastic quips, while Dave would reply back with an equally amusing answer accompanied by a shitty drawing.
One thing led to another, and now they were in the middle of finishing up their sophomore year of high school, becoming inseparable since that day.
___ loved their friendship. Dave was just so cool! He was an aspiring DJ who had mad skills mixing up sick beats. ___ was always there to listen to his latest creation, always commending him on his awesome work. They were always there for each other, able to be themselves around one another. ___ with her laid back personality and Dave with his ironic humor.
Nothing could even possibly separate these two bros!
But the main problem was, somewhere along the way, ___ had fallen for Dave.
Stealing a glance at Dave, ___ began to shake her head. She wanted to tell him about her feelings, but more so than that was the fear that she would ruin their friendship, so of course, she kept quiet about them.
“___? ___!” The sound of her name being called broke ___ out of her daydream as she shook her head. “Huh, what?”
A chuckle was heard as Dave smirked. Leaning down, he whispered against her ear. “You’ve been staring at me throughout the whole previews. You thinking about kissing me or what?”
She sputtered, punching his arm as he let out an ‘ouch!’ “Get real, shut up, Strider, the movie’s about to start.” Keeping her eyes glued to the screen. Dave let out another laugh, clearly amused by her behavior.
Just then, the movie began to play. ___ could feel her palms begin to sweat as the monster was seen on the big screen, using its claws as it ripped apart the first victim. Unable to handle the scene, ___ took a hold of Dave’s hand. Suddenly, the monster let out a high-pitched scream, its sound piercing through ___’s ears as she let out a light squeak.
Without even thinking about her actions, she buried her face within the crook of Dave’s neck. “Tell me when it’s over.”
With another light chuckle, Dave shifted slightly, pushing up the armrest as he moved ___ closer to him. “Looks like my plan worked.”
Blinking in surprise, ___ slowly pulled away, keeping her back turned as she avoided looking at the screen. “W-what do you mean?”
Running a hand down her face, Dave smirked, red eyes gleaming in victory. “I knew that if I made you watch horror with me, then you would obviously cling to me.”
Moving closer to her, Dave whispered. “Shall I take your mind off of it?”
Not giving her a chance to answer, he kissed her, causing a burst of pleasure to course through her veins as she sighed. Wrapping her arms around Dave’s neck, they proceeded to have a make-out session throughout the rest of the film.
Perhaps watching horror movies wasn’t so bad after all.
